If your child is the kind of kid who spends hours building elaborate LEGO structures at home, Bricks and Gadgets is worth a serious look. This STEM camp at Montgomery Bell Academy puts LEGO engineering front and center, with campers working through the mechanics behind gears, pulleys, and levers by actually building functioning machines and gadgets with LEGO bricks. It's part of the Camp Brick program, so the curriculum is structured around real engineering concepts rather than free play. The camp runs just one week this summer — July 6 through 10 — from 1:00 to 4:00 PM each day, making it a nice afternoon option if your mornings are already booked. It's open to kids ages 6 through 14, so it can work for a range of ages, though younger builders will likely get the most out of the hands-on format. The cost is $260 for the week. Located on Harding Pike, MBA is easy to reach from West Nashville and Belle Meade. Families also explore Montgomery Bell Academy: Fun with Robotics, Simple Machines & LEGO Gadgets, and Battle Bots for similar hands-on STEM options on the same campus.
