1. Who We Are

Summerly (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates summerly.camp, a summer camp directory and planning tool for families in the Greater Nashville / Williamson County area. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

2. Data We Collect

Account information: email address and display name when you create an account via Supabase Auth.
Profile data: home address (converted to approximate coordinates for distance calculations), vacation dates, and child profiles (name, age, grade, interests). No child's full name or identifying data is required.
Usage data: camps you save, sessions you plan, and preference settings.
Payment data: if you purchase an operator subscription, payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We receive only a confirmation of payment and your Stripe customer ID. We never see or store your card details. Parent accounts are completely free and require no payment.
Log data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) collected automatically via Vercel hosting.

3. How We Use Your Data

Provide and improve the Summerly service.
Personalise camp recommendations based on your children's ages and interests.
Show approximate distances from your home address to camp locations.
Process payments and manage subscription status.
Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset). We do not currently send marketing emails. Notification features (new camps, registration alerts) are listed as coming soon and will require your explicit opt-in.
Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the service.

4. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies required for authentication (session cookies via Supabase). We also use Vercel Analytics, which collects anonymised, aggregated usage data and does not use identifying cookies or fingerprinting. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following service providers only as necessary to operate Summerly:

Supabase — authentication and database hosting (US-based).
Stripe — payment processing (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified).
Vercel — web hosting and anonymous analytics.
Nominatim / OpenStreetMap — geocoding of home addresses (your address is sent to their API but not stored by them beyond the immediate request).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Children's Privacy

Summerly is designed for parents and guardians to plan activities for their children. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13. Child profile fields (name, age, interests) are entered by the parent or guardian and are used solely to improve camp recommendations within that account. We do not share child profile data with third parties.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at camps@summerly.camp, and we will delete your data within 30 days. Payment records may be retained for the period required by applicable law.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data via your Profile page or by emailing us.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Object to processing or request restriction of processing.
Data portability (receive a copy of your data in a structured format).

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, encrypted database connections, and bcrypt-hashed credentials managed by Supabase Auth. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of Summerly after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
