This half-day science camp turns the kitchen into a real lab, using food as the vehicle for hands-on chemistry and physics experiments. Kids make gummy worms, edible slime, rock candy, and solar oven s'mores — each project teaching actual science concepts in a way that sticks with young learners. It's part of MBA's 615 Science program and is designed specifically for rising kindergartners through fourth graders, so the pace and activities are age-appropriate and accessible even for kids without any prior science background. Sessions run mornings from 9 a.m. to noon, which makes it easy to pair with an afternoon activity or camp. Two sessions are offered — one beginning in late May and one in mid-July — with registration cost ranging from $210 to $260 depending on the session. The camp takes place at Montgomery Bell Academy on Harding Pike in Nashville. Families also explore Montgomery Bell Academy: Crazy Science (Little Explorers), Montgomery Bell Academy: Out of This World Science, and Montgomery Bell Academy: Fun with Robotics for other hands-on STEM options at the same campus.
