Franklin Road Academy: Architects in the Making

This afternoon camp at Franklin Road Academy introduces kids to the world of architecture through hands-on design and building. Rather than sitting through lectures, campers work directly with architectural principles to design and construct structures — a great fit for kids who love to build things and want to understand the reasoning behind how buildings come together. The wide age range of 5 to 14 means siblings can sometimes attend together, though you'll want to ask how the program handles the developmental spread. Sessions run from noon to 3:00 p.m., making this a solid half-day option that pairs well with a morning program or works on its own for younger kids who aren't ready for a full day. At $225, it's a reasonable price point for STEM programming in Nashville. Two sessions are offered across the summer, running June 15 through July 24. The campus sits on Franklin Road in South Nashville, convenient for families in Brentwood, Green Hills, and the 37220 corridor. Families also explore Franklin Road Academy: Crunch Labs/Engineering and Franklin Road Academy: Build A World: Civilization Camp for similar hands-on STEM and building options nearby.
