Knight School is Father Ryan's dedicated chess program, offered as part of the school's Summer at Father Ryan lineup at their campus on Norwood Drive in Nashville. The camp is built for a broad range of kids — grades K through 8 (ages 5 to 14) — so it works whether your child is just learning how the pieces move or already thinks a few moves ahead. Chess fits neatly into the STEM category because it trains logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and strategic thinking in a hands-on, competitive way. Three sessions run from June 1 through July 17, with morning hours from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and an afternoon block from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, giving families some flexibility in how long their day runs. At $220 per week, it's accessible for a specialty program on a private school campus. Families also consider FR: Science Guys Camp and FR: Bloxels Video Game Design for other STEM-focused picks within the same Summer at Father Ryan program.
