This half-day STEM camp from Camp Mirage is built around the kind of science that kids actually get excited about: the weird, the gross, and the surprisingly fascinating. The Grossology and Freaky Experiments theme means young scientists ages 5 and 6 will spend their mornings exploring the slimier, bubblier, and more unexpected side of how things work — exactly the opposite of a school science lesson, which is precisely the point. Three sessions run June 1 through July 10, from 9 a.m. to noon, a half-day schedule that suits younger kids well without turning into a full-day commitment. At $195 per session, it's held at Camp Mirage's Brentwood location, easy to reach for families in the south Nashville suburbs. If you have a 5- or 6-year-old who's drawn to anything messy, reactive, or just plain weird, this camp is a natural fit. Families also explore Camp Mirage Brentwood: Lego Builders Camp and Franklin Road Academy: Crunch Labs/Engineering for similar hands-on STEM options nearby.
