This afternoon program at University School of Nashville gives kids ages 7–12 a hands-on introduction to the full filmmaking process. Campers write their own scripts, storyboard their ideas, operate cameras, direct scenes, and edit their footage into short movies — a genuinely impressive set of skills to come away with after just one week. The acting component means kids are in front of the camera too, not just behind it, which makes it a natural fit for kids who enjoy performance as much as storytelling. Located on Edgehill Ave in the heart of Nashville, USN is a well-regarded school with strong arts programming, so the facilities and instruction tend to be solid. Sessions run afternoons from 12:30 to 4:00, which pairs nicely with a morning program if you're piecing together a full camp day. At $250 per session, it's a reasonable price for a specialty arts camp. Four sessions are still available across the June–July window. Families also explore University School of Nashville: A Wonderful Week of Wicked! and University School of Nashville: Vocal Music and Performance for similar theatre and performance options nearby.
