If your kid has been rolling dice at home and pestering you to find other players, this afternoon camp at University School of Nashville is worth a serious look. It's a tabletop Dungeons & Dragons camp — not video games, not a digital adaptation, but the real thing: collaborative storytelling, character-building, and imaginative role-playing with other kids around a table. The camp description notes it welcomes both returning players and total newcomers, so you don't need to worry if your child has never picked up a d20 before. The camp runs afternoons only, 12:30 to 4:00 p.m., which is a nice option if you have morning activities lined up. Two sessions are available running June 22 through July 2, with at least one still open. It's held on the USN campus at 2000 Edgehill Ave in the Edgehill neighborhood. Cost is $250 per session, in line with other USN specialty offerings. Designed for ages 9 to 13. Families also explore University School of Nashville: Hogwarts on Edgehill and University School of Nashville: Fantasy Camp for similar imaginative, story-driven options nearby.
