Beat Making at University School of Nashville is a music production camp for kids ages 9 to 13 who want to discover how original music actually gets made. Led by instructors from Bach to Rock, campers spend their afternoons working with digital audio workstations, exploring rhythm, sampling, mixing, and the core techniques of music production. It's a strong choice for kids who are drawn to music and want to understand the behind-the-scenes work that shapes what audiences hear in performances and stage productions. The program runs from 12:30 to 4:00 pm at USN's campus at 2000 Edgehill Avenue in Nashville, with six sessions available from June 1 through July 10, 2026. Four of those sessions are currently open for enrollment. At $250 per session, this is a reasonably priced way for upper elementary and middle school kids to dive into digital music production. Families also explore University School of Nashville: Vocal Music and Performance, A Wonderful Week of Wicked!, and Little Songwriters for similar music and performance programs at the same campus.
