This afternoon robotics camp at Montgomery Bell Academy introduces younger kids to the world of building and programming through LEGO's WeDo and BOOST kits — two of the most beginner-friendly platforms for getting hands-on with robotics. Kids work in pairs to construct moving models, then program them to respond to commands, which makes the coding feel like a natural extension of the building rather than a separate lesson. It's part of MBA's Camp Brick program, so the curriculum is built specifically around these kits. The camp runs afternoons only — 1:00 to 4:00 PM — for one week in mid-July, making it a solid choice if your mornings are already committed to another program. At $260 for the week, it's reasonably priced for a hands-on STEM camp at an established school. Ages 6 through 10 are welcome, so it works well across a range of elementary grades, including kids who have never touched a robotics kit before. Families also explore Montgomery Bell Academy: Simple Machines & LEGO Gadgets, Battle Bots, and Crazy Science (Little Explorers) for similar STEM options on the same campus.
